Born and raised in Santander, Spain, Ms. Zorrilla de San Martín is bilingual and holds dual citizenship US/EEC. For over a decade, her professional experience has included director of photography credits on a number of award-winning documentaries, PSA’s, commercials and short films. She has worked with numerous clients including: Microsoft, Cover Girl, ESPN, Sports Illustrated, Bravo and IFC. Additionally, she was the cinematographer on an Emmy Award winning documentary which aired nationally on PBS entitled: "She Says: Women in News".

Ms. Zorrilla de San Martín graduated with a BFA in photography and film from The Rhode Island School of Design. Her photographic work has been exhibited at Bergamot Station in Santa Monica, at Farmani Gallery in Beverly Hills and in the windows of Saks Fifth Avenue alongside Brunello Cucinelli’s distinguished designs. She was named finalist in the Hasselblad Masters Competition for her photographic series on Matadors and was 16th finalist among 12,000 directors from over 18 countries for Steven Spielberg’s reality show entitled "On the Lot". Her work has been celebrated by both industry professionals and her peers alike and is thought to be exceptionally visual and thought provoking.

Carolina Zorrilla de San Martín is a member of the DGA and SOC. In developing her film and documentary style, as well as her commercial directing career, she has refined her understanding of “the decisive moment” when everything comes together on the screen. Above all else she is passionate about her craft and has devoted herself to portraying the truth and beauty of a scene, be the subject matter of a chilling depiction of violence or one of rare serenity.
